So what makes Red Cockatoo a Social Enterprise?
Much of our work, 30 - 40% at times is not for profit, bringing wonderful
social outcomes for the Aboriginal people and communities we work with.
Social Enterprise Work
30% - 40% of our time is spent in the non income earning services such as:
- Training young Indigenous employees / Training Aboriginal arts group
coordinators in exhibitions, curating etc..
- Mentoring artists
- Promoting all Aboriginal events we know of
- LOANING money so artists can travel overseas to show artworks
- Professional development for artists:
- Assisting with Artist CV’s and portfolios, photography, marketing
- Writing Press Releases, articles for the media
- Media / corporate liaison
- Advertising and marketing individual artists and their product
- Attending many Aboriginal cultural talks, walks and presentations
(National Parks Camp 2009, Reconciliation Conference 2009, Volunteer at Yarbun etc)
- Attending ANTaR Meetings and Reconciliation conferences and meetings.
- Catching up with artists (usually involves lots of laughs)
- Consulting and communicating with edlers...
Royalties from the sales of all products presented on this website are paid directly to
each artist.
Artist approvals are required for each job request.
